The Wandoor beach is the most beautiful beach situated at the entrance of Mahatma Gandhi marine national park, and is among the of the popular beaches of Andaman that lies a the distance of about 25kms from Port Blair. This is a major tourist attraction that grab their attention for its scenic beauty. This beach is ideal for swimming ,sun bathing and family picnic . This beach is calm with clear pristine blue water as it offers soothing ambiance to spend spend your time with your family and friends.

Reach Wandoor

  • You can catch bus from the Port Blair STS bus terminal to Wandoor village.You could see the buses without bus number with board saying Wandoor. Bus journey takes around 45 minutes to reach the Wandoor village. Tickets can be purchased in the bus itself as the charges will be ₹ 12 per head.
  • After getting down from bus at Wandoor village, you need to walk around 5 minutes to reach the Wandoor beach. All buses could not go upto the beach as the narrow village raods are not wide enough to allow buses turn back.

Important

  • From the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park as you walk towards Wandoor beach you will get a public toilet on your left.
  • For the convenience of the torists, there are changing rooms and benches are built.
  • You can visit Jolly Bouy/Red Skin Island from here , where Snorkeling and scuba diving is possible.
  • Boats for Jolly Bouy/Red Skin Island are available only up to noon (unless in peak tourist periods).
  • To view the coral-reefs in Jolly Bouy/Red Skin Island , can hire glass-bottomed boats which is safe.

Food Facilities

You can see a few small food stalls operated by the locals. Basic food, eggs and some groceries are available from these stalls. Sea Princess or Anugama are a couple of new resorts or hotels at Wandoor which offer other specialitiies for the visitors. Sea Princess Beach Resort offers season tariff ranges from Rs 6000- 10000. Anugama Resort is a jungle resort, lies along the road to Wandoor jetty You can see a lot of coconut water sellers around the beach. Near the village you find water taps, carry bottled water if possible.
